Location Location Location:

     When visiting Washington, the location of where you choose to stay can make all the difference. The Eastern Market Apartment offers a prime spot in the heart of Capitol Hill. Walk to much of what Washington offers, the U.S. Capitol, Library of Congress, Folger Shakespeare Theatre, Smithsonian Museums, and the National Mall. Eastern Market, a unique Washington mainstay, with fresh meats, produce, and dairy is just 2 blocks away. Sundays, the Market transforms into a open air flea market and bazaar. If you destination is not within walking distance, the Studio is just 3.5 blocks from the Metro system, Eastern Market station accessing the Blue and Orange lines. Ride the Metro to Dupont Circle, the Convention Center, most Smithsonian buildings, National Monuments, many of the Universities or within walking distance of Georgetown in just a few minutes. 


Modern, Fully renovated living space: 

      As found in almost every rowhouse here in the city, the Apartment is a garden level/English basement unit. The space has been fully renovated featuring 8.5 foot ceilings, a modern European style kitchen and new full bath with tub and shower. Overhead recessed lighting and 3 windows in the front bay ensure the apartment never feels dark. The open floor plan ensures the space always feels spacious and unconfined. Sleeping accommodations are for up to 6 guests. In the rear of the apartment, a Queen sized Murphy bed folds down from a built in cabinet. In the front living area, the sofa opens to a Queen sized bed. During the Spring and Fall tourist seasons, there is an additional bedroom available that adds 2 twin sized beds and a second full bath. 


     The kitchen is also all new, with gas stove/oven combination, under counter refrigerator, microwave, and dishwasher. All dining and cooking utensils are provided. Nearby groceries can be gathered at Eastern Market, Yes Organics, Safeway and Harris Teeter. Safeway will also deliver groceries for a small fee.  

Wireless Internet, and LCD TV with cable are provided so you can stay connected if you desire. For those traveling to DC on business, a desk is tucked into a cozy nook at the back of the apartment offering a quiet space to work. 


The Neighborhood:

     The apartment is located at 6th and A Street in SE Capitol Hill. The neighborhood is filled with single family homes, many with children, and professionals who work in the many facets of Washington politics, commerce and culture. Visitors will find it safe, relatively quiet (by city standards) and bustling with small local shopping and restaurants. From the apartment, you will be able to walk to many of the sights, or take the Metro (subway) located just 3.5 blocks from the front door. The Eastern Market station provides access to the Blue and Orange lines, connecting or directly accessing almost every corner of the city. 


The Details: 

     The apartment requires a minimum stay of 3 nights. A 10% discount is offered for stays of 7 nights or longer. All bed and bath linens are provided for your stay. The kitchen includes all cooking and dining utensils. The apartment is of course cleaned prior to your arrival, however daily housekeeping is not provided. We do not charge a cleaning fee, however it is expected that the apartment is left reasonably picked up.
