Simon was a certified public accountant with KPMG in Zambia, South Africa, Belgium and Nigeria. He paints oil on canvas from his studio located in the Carriage House behind the home. Guests will see some of his work displayed throughout the house. Robyn retired after 30 years as a career diplomat enjoying assignments at the American Embassies in Europe, the Caribbean, Africa and was the Consul General in Lagos, Nigeria. Both of your hosts are fluent in French. Please note, in addition to your hosts, their loving pets, Teddy, a Spanish Water Dog and Freddy, a smoke grey feline also call the Apple Tree Inn home. Modern with a Sense of History
The 1881 Victorian townhouse was completely renovated and updated in the 1990's. The remodeling kept many of the best features of the 19th century, including pocket doors, 12' ceilings, carved woodwork, crown moldings, pocket doors and 3 working fireplaces. One particularly dramatic feature added with the renovations is a 2 story atrium with curved stairway to the rear courtyard and garden. The home is centrally air-conditioned and heated for year round comfort.
