Our Home

The Independence House B&B is a historic, post-Civil War Capitol Hill Rowhouse. The two-story brick home was built in 1871 and occupied by the builder's family until the 1930s. Today, it’s a welcoming Washington DC bed and breakfast on Capitol Hill with a room perfect for two travelers. Inside Independence House, you’ll find original wood floors, locally sourced paintings by Capitol Hill artists, antique crystal chandeliers, and an impressive collection of nineteenth century rugs from all over the world.

Of course, the B&B is outfitted with modern conveniences including cable TV, WiFi, and air conditioning. The large guest room is on the second floor and features a Queen-sized bed, private sitting room, desk, and a private hall bath.
