Comfortable Private Home: 

    The Otis Place Bed and Breakfast is located in the newly gentrified Columbia Heights Historic District, in Northwest Washington DC. This Victorian townhouse was built in 1910 and completely renovated in 2002/2003,and offers a choice of 2 guest room, each furnished with a Queen sized bed and private bath.  The home features original woodwork, hardwood floors, antique lighting fixtures and working fireplaces.  The first floor living room includes comfortable sofa and chairs and working fireplace and front bay window with larger windows allowing a flood of natural light.  Guests are welcome to relax, read and enjoy the fireplace.  The dining room features a decorative fireplace and a beautiful antique chandelier under a round dining table.  The gourmet kitchen features granite counter tops and tin ceilings. Original artwork is located throughout the home.  In warmer weather, guests are encouraged to enjoy the screened porch located just off the kitchen at the rear of the house.  

The Accommodations:

Mauve Room: A second floor guest room with a Queen-sized bed, desk, comfortable chair, dresser, color TV with cable and VCR.  The en-suite bath has a pedestal sink and walk in shower (no tub).

Blue Room:  A second floor guest room with a Queen-sized bed, table and two chairs, dresser, color TV with cable and VCR.  The en-suite bath has an Antique claw foot soaking tub with shower and a pedestal sink.

 

 

 

Your Host:

   Your host is an attorney specializing in Mediation. He also serves as an adjunct professor teaching negotiation, mediation and dispute resolution with the George Washington University School of Law and the Keller Graduate School.  He is very active in the community and the District of Columbia government.

 

Location:

     This private home B&B is located in the newly gentrified Columbia Heights Historic district at 10^th and Otis Place; NW. Visitors will find Metro access easy; there are 2 stations within walking distance from the house. The Georgia Avenue/Petworth station is ¼ mile from the home and the Columbia Heights station is ½ mile. Both stations board the Green and Yellow lines,with direct rides to the Washington Convention Center, China Town and the National Mall and Smithsonian Museums. Enjoy DC USA, a new development of shopping and dining along 14^th street featuring local shops and restaurants, along with larger chains such as Best Buy, Target, Ruby Tuesday’s,Starbucks, Applebee’s and Subway.
