Convenient Location:
Meridian Manor offers the best of two of Washington’s best neighborhoods! Located at 16th and U Street, the home lies just at the boundary of Dupont Circle and the newly re-established U Street Corridor, known for its ultra hip jazz. Visitors will find this home exceptionally comfortable and convenient, with its six large guest rooms from which to choose. (There's also a separate, fully furnished, one bedroom apartment.) Amenities include: queen-size beds, color televisions with cable, decorative fireplaces and wireless Internet access. Four of the guest rooms have private baths, and two rooms share a bath in the hall.
Meridian Manor was built in 1890, and gets its name from nearby Meridian Hill Park, a quick block away. This green space is part of the National Park system, and offers visitors a beautiful Italian garden with a unique 13 tier, cascading water fountain as well as a memorial to President James Buchanan. Getting around Washington - whether for business or pleasure - is a breeze with Meridian Manor as your base. Here are just a couple of examples: If you have business at the Hilton Towers Hotel, a ten minute walk West of the Manor will get you there with ease. If, instead, you need to head to the new Washington Convention Center, the U Street/Cardozo Metro station is just a five minute walk, and once on the train, the Convention Center is just two stops away. Sightseers? Four stops on the Metro will take you to the National Mall, where you'll find the Smithsonian Museums, White House, US Capitol, and many of our nation's most treasured monuments, including the World War II, Vietnam, and Korean War Memorials.
 Extensive Room Choices:
There are a total of six guest rooms at this B&B, on the second, third and fourth floors of the house. The Slate and Chocolate rooms are on the second floor and offer queen-size beds and private baths. These rooms also include full-size sleeper sofas for additional guests. The Suede room and Master Suite are on the third floor and also offer queen-size beds and private baths. The other two guest rooms are on the fourth floor and each also feature queen-size beds, but share a hall bath. There is an additional living area on the fourth floor with two sleeper sofas. This entire floor can be reserved as a suite, providing comfortable accommodations for a family or group traveling together. (Maximum of six people allowed for the suite.)
The Furnished Apartment:
Meridian Manor also offers a one bedroom, English basement apartment with a private entrance. This unit is furnished with a queen bed in the bedroom, a full-sized sleeper sofa in the living room, and can be reserved also to include a roll away bed (suitable for a child): Maximum occupancy five. The front entrance brings you into the large living/dining room with TV, cable and wireless Internet. The fully equipped kitchen includes all standard appliances, as well as all the cooking and eating utensils you'll need for your stay. The bedroom is large and the apartment has a full bath and laundry facilities. Unlike the Bed and Breakfast part of the house, the apartment is only cleaned prior to your arrival and after your departure; it does not include daily housekeeping. All bed and bath linens are provided. Breakfast is not normally included with the apartment, however, if your party would like to join in the breakfasts served in the main part of the house, that can be arranged for a small fee.
